I've tried a startup script someone posted on DD-WRT, and that now seems to have fixed it, but I'm also going to make sure the iptables rules I put for the DVR to prevent it from accessing the internet weren't the issue either. Hence, why I went through all this trouble. The issue wasn't with the Pi or it being specifically blocked by the DVR. I don't know how I missed this, so I finally was able to confirm that it was either the DVR or the router blocking this access. I had assumed it was a configuration problem with the Pi, but recently, I tried to ping the DVR using a laptop connected to the LAN and I realized that it couldn't reach the DVR, unless I switched to wireless. When I would connect the Pi using wi-fi, everything would work as normal. I could not get the DVR to communicate with the Raspberry Pi or devices that VPNed into the network using the Pi. Several months ago, I came here to ask about installing a Raspberry Pi to use as a VPN and server. The DD-WRT firmware might have a bug that prevents devices on wired LAN from interacting with each other. I have been doing some research into this since I posted this and I might be coming up with a solution. ![]()
